NARPO - The only Association for retired police officers, which exists to safeguard the rights of members and promote measures for their welfare with particular reference to pensions.

NARPO is a founder member of the Public Services Pensioners Council; we maintain relations with all serving Officers, Associations and Employee Support Section of West Midlands Police. However we need the support of all retired officers to maintain our status, and most importantly, safeguard pensioners’ rights.

NARPO is a great believer in the continued welfare of retired officers and has a working relationship with West Midlands Police Personnel Employee Support Section. There are members who have knowledge of various subjects concerning appeals on DSS and pension matters.

NARPO members have access to various organisations nationally who offer discounts on motor insurance, house and contents insurance and other types of insurance for your needs. Other benefits of membership include investment and legal advice, discounted holidays and numerous special activities. Branches organise various social functions for their members to enjoy.

NARPO works closely with the Private Medical Scheme and the Benevolent Fund in order to assist members in need and ensure their concerns are heard.

There is a quarterly magazine “NARPO News” which contains articles and offers of interest to assist Members in retirement. A regular article in the magazine relates to changes in benefits and tax issues.

There are five branches of NARPO in the force area, including the Birmingham Branch which acts as a clearing house and handles regular circulation. Please decide upon which branch you would like to join and see the list on the reverse of this information sheet.
